{August 14, 2008}   What we learned

Beware of Spam even when blogging. Adding RSS feeds to your blogs is pretty easy. Make sure you set up folder options so you won’t be overwhelmed with RRS subscription information.

Working with Feed Readers will be fun. Yahoo and Google are easy applications to use and working with their applications will make blogging and using RSS feed readers easier.

Scribus

http://scribus.net

Scribus is an open-source desktop publishing program (similar to Publisher) that brings award-winning professional page layout to Linux/Unix, MacOS X, OS/2 and Windows desktops with a combination of “press-ready” output and new approaches to page layout. Underneath the modern and user friendly interface, Scribus supports professional publishing features, such as CMYK color, separations, ICC color management and versatile PDF creation.

I have tried it on one computer and I like it. It is similar to OpenOffice software. If you can use  and like OpenOffice you will like this alternative to Publisher.

{August 13, 2008}   This is starting to be fun

It’s working better.  I’m starting to enjoy this adventure.  I can see real possibilities in using this as a tool to communicate with our patrons.

{August 13, 2008}   here we go again

I’m having trouble with the wirless connection.  I want to learn how to use blogs, wikis, etc. for use at our library.  Hope this works..
